Held over a weekend, most schools will host a homecoming parade, homecoming king/queen coronation, pep rallies and tailgating parties which all lead up to the much anticipated football game. After the football game, some other activities might include a Greek step show, musical concert, homecoming dance and alumni dinner.

The Tom Joyner Family Reunion continues to grow in its popularity. This year the event will welcome many top music artists including Maxwell, Tamar Braxton, Fred Hammond and Cameo. Throughout the weekend, you’ll enjoy family-friendly activities such as games, comedy and a picnic. Discount admissions to local theme parks is also available. The kids are on their way back to school. If you have a kindergartener, you are probably crying as you lay out their clothes for the first day of school. But those with middle schoolers or high schoolers are likely dancing the jig, happy to see them leave the house. Getting back into the routine for the back-to-school season can have you stressing to the point of breaking out in hives. You’re nervous, the kids are excited (or not) and you are anticipating the extra time you’ll need in the morning to get everyone out of the house. Avoid the back and forth, and running in and out of the house for things you may have forgotten by being better organized. Here are 5 tips to get you and the kids ready for the back-to-school season.
